Sustainable Living Spaces Inspired by Eric Lloyd WrightThis unique installation, inspired by Eric Lloyd Wright working collaboratively with his chief associates Hannah Wear and Kevin Parkhurst also of Design Integration Group (DIG), included a foyer, kitchen, bath, landscaped patio, den/eco resource library, nursery, dining room, and living area. The 1600 square foot Sustainable Living Spaces exhibit emphasized the use of natural and non toxic materials and alternative construction and energy systems representing the best in sustainable architecture.

Taste of Green L.A. Reception

The Taste of Green L.A. Welcome Reception was held from 4:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the 600 aisle of Green West on Tuesday, May 20. Hosted by L.A. Inc. and Green Media Enterprises, the reception highlighted sustainable menu items from leading Los Angeles restaurants including: Aventura Catering, Blue Velvet Restaurant, Border Grill, Casa, Ciudad, J Restaurant Lounge, M. Green Careers Center at Green West

The Green Careers Center sponsored by Manpower, Inc. was in booth 819 at Green West. Once considered on the fringe, careers promoting environmental responsibility are now mainstream. Million Trees Los Angeles Adopt-A-Tree ProgramMillion Trees

Million Trees Los Angeles was in booth 706 providing information about their Adopt-a-Tree program on Tuesday, May 20 and Wednesday, May 21. Green West participants with a home or business in the city of Los Angeles could adopt a free tree right from the show floor and could have an additional seven trees shipped to their home or business (trees must be planted within Los Angeles city limits).

H. David Nahai, General Manager and CEO of the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power delivered a keynote address "The Department of Water and Power's Vision for a Greener Los Angeles" on Tuesday, May 20 at 4:00 p.m.

Gil Friend, President and CEO of Natural Logic, delivered a keynote address "Capturing the Sustainability Opportunity" on Wednesday, May 21 at 10:30 a.m.

 

 

 

Bob Foster

 

The Honorable Robert “Bob” Foster, Mayor of Long Beach, California, delivered a keynote address on Wednesday, May 21 at 12:30 p.m. Mayor Foster's remarks addressed trends in sustainability and energy efficiency; where local governments are headed in an effort to become sustainable cities; and how the public and private sector can work together to implement green business practices and create healthy communities.

 

Eric Garcetti

 

The Honorable Eric Garcetti, President of the Los Angeles City Council, delivered a keynote address on Thursday, May 22 at 10:30 a.m. Council President Garcetti discussed Los Angeles' initiatives to encourage the development of state-of-the-art green industries and highlight the economic benefits of the city's commitment to renewable energy, green building, clean air and clean water.

 

 

Joshua Mark, Executive Director of Special Event Production and Creative Services for FOX Broadcasting Company, delivered a keynote address on Thursday, May 22 at 12:30 p.m. FOX makes a Cool Change. A look at the greening of FOX special events including the 2007 Primetime Emmy Awards and Super Bowl XLII in Phoenix.
